Our values
Perhaps you stumbled upon us or maybe you knew just what you were getting into. Either way, we didn’t know we were about to meet, but we hoped we would. We’ve been firing this hope and lighting this fire for a while. For longer than we’ve called ourselves this: Porventura. For the love of design, for you.
This intro, right here, might be written in words, but this story has been carved on wood. We can’t tell when it all began. When you’re working with techniques old enough to be classics and materials that are nothing if not a testament to patience and growth, time becomes a blurry concept.
We can’t tell where it ends either. Once our work enters your life, it lives on. Generation after generation, each time a new incarnation. At all the homes where craftsmanship is valued and quality is appreciated, but it’s the little twists (and turns) that win hearts.
This is what we do: we shape wood into furniture. We have nothing to hide, our
design is in plain sight: clean, pleasing, but a little mind-bending. Because while your body should always be comfortable, your imagination should never rest. We wonder out loud a lot. We dream out loud a lot. And it always starts with a “what if…?”. We hope you enjoy sitting on our dreams, hiding your secrets and treasures in them, making up your own while comfortably nestled on ours.
If you don’t believe us, believe your sight, your touch, even your sense of smell. They’ll let you know how you truly feel about our work when you experience it. As for us, all we know is that our story, like our work, is never finished. We’re running the risk of trying to write it all here, so we must force an end to this intro and a beginning to our catalogue.
