MARIE'S CORNER
About Us
25 years have been sufficient for Marie’s Corner to impose itself internationally as a referential brand in the sofa universe “made in Belgium”.
Belgian, up to the end of the seams, the company always has distinguished itself by its facility to reinterpret the European design tendencies in the very heart of its creations. Exceeding mastery in the art of combining shapes, colours and materials, Marie’s Corner creates its unique and elegant style, comfort being the common denominator.
Marie’s Corner accomplishes customized and personalized sofas upon request with respect for a tradition of craftsmanship. 200 exclusive models, 300 finishings and an infinity of possible combinations, turn each piece into a unique creation. Simultaneously ageless and ahead of its time, Marie’s Corner has always developed iconic models, designed to adapt to the anyone’s desire.
Included in the BEL (Brussels Exclusive Labels) in 2015, the company has joined the 80 most iconic representatives of the capital city
A look towards the future
Since their very beginning, the Belgian leader of “tailor-made” sofas has never stopped to decline its obsession for comfort in the lesser of its creations. Supported by the fresh dynamism and the energy of the new managing team, consisting of the duo Serge Silber and Philippe Vanhemelen, Marie’s Corner constantly reinvents itself, but still preserves its ADN and its values of tradition and authenticity.
Regular development of new models in original and more and more out-and-out shapes.
A continuous larger choice of finishing in order to respond with precision to the expectations of the customers.
A more specific and personalized service: throughout the entire process, the customers can rely on the attention, the availability and the professionalism of a team of interior decorators, entirely dedicated to their project. As such, anyone can benefit from advice, both on commercial level as in the realization of their interiors: feasibility in terms of shape, dimensions, maintenance, etc.
Contract: a line of products designed by Marie’s Corner to respond specifically to the requirements of the communities. For this, the company works with high quality fabrics adapted to any kind of project: fire-proof and stain-proof treatment. In parallel, Marie’s Corner offers a creation service adapted to specific requirements as well as to the realization of a kitchen bench, the renovation of a top-class hotel, the decoration of a restaurant, the set-up of a clubhouse or any other real estate project.
The Marie’s Corner Project Store (39 rue de Namur in Brussels), completely renovated, welcomes many events and collaborations with young artists and designers. As such, the company reaches out to others to continue and to promote the Belgian excellence to the widest audience.
Collaboration with young promissing and/or established designers: Jun Gobron and also Pierre Coddens, both having participated in the Uptown Design Tour course.
The internet site, entirely redesigned in 2017 for a more instinctive navigation.
International expansion of the company: the brand is active in 45 countries with an increased presence in Europe, the United States, South America, Asia and North Africa.
Prestigious collaborations for real estate projects: Droom me (new Hippodrome of Boitsfort), Bellerose, David Lloyd, The National (golf 18 new brand holes of Wezembeek-Oppem),…
A new managing duo
Already present for a few years in the adventure of Marie’s Corner, a new duo finally has taken over the lead of the company in September 2016:
Serge Silber manages the Belgian entity (commercial, marketing and human resources departments), while Philippe Vanhemelen manages the financial department and the production factory in Spain. Together they manage as such the entire entity.
From now on, this explosive and complementary binomial is head of a team of 20 persons in Waver, of 35 craftsmen in the production workshop in Zaragoza and of a network of 15 European distribution agents.
Even though the development of new models, more pure and contemporary, contributes to rejuvenate the brand range, the new duo does not wish to stay on site and are bringing a new dynamism to the company: increased visibility through large real estate projects (decoration of hotels, golfs and prestigious restaurants), creation of corners in new stores (presence in mega-stores) and reinforcement of the sales network.
Marie’s Corner also aspires to consolidate its presence on the European market (already three showrooms in Germany, three in France, one in the Netherlands as well as furniture of an ephemeral apartment / showroom in Paris,…) all by practicing a more “aggressive” price setting for the on demand models. The objectives are set: exceeding 12.000 pieces produced per year, arriving at 24.000 pieces in the next five years.
The ultimate dream of the duo would be to open a hotel signed Marie’s Corner in one of the European capital cities in the near future.

Marie’s Corner, craftsmanship on a pedestal
We are craftsmen and proud of it
Apprizing the craftsmanship at Marie’s Corner is no wishful thinking. It is even the essence of the brand: each model is unique, made by hand, on demand, and by piece by the craftsmen. These guardians of tradition only work with noble materials and exclusive fabrics, made from natural materials.
Marie’s Corner privileges the European tradition with a factory of more than 4.000 m2, located in Zaragoza, in Spain. This production tool can rely on a team of 30 master-decorators who make up to 12.000 pieces entirely by hand every year. The factory is completely integrated in the entity of Marie’s Corner and manages the full process, from the development of the cross-beams to the expedition of the piece.
Today, a web platform allows the customer to follow the evolution of his order in real-time.

The Marie’s Corner’s style
Since 25 years, the creations of Marie’s Corner join usability, comfort and know-how in a rich style with multiple influences.
At present, the brand demonstrates a more asserted, artistic direction dividing itself over 5 collections: Classical, Neo-Classical, Retro-vintage, Cottage and Contemporary.
In a more contemporary approach (design), Marie’s Corner proposes models in more organic shapes, interconnecting pure lines and natural curves. Brushed, polished and declined in several colours, the aluminium adds a touch of refinement and aestheticism to the new models of the Marie’s Corner collections.
