The Angled Cabinet is constructed with remarkable joints where all three beams share equal contact with each other.
By rotating the beams around their axes, a new connection is created at the intersection, which results in a strong construction. When you see this structure in an isometric perspective, it is as if you are looking at an architectural skeleton with a different image from every angle.
The cabinet is designed as a modular system and is available in different variations by repeating the beams in different lengths, heights and widths. The glass and aluminium panels are interchangeable, making the layout of the cabinet flexible. The wooden wine rack is optional and is attached to the frame of the cabinet.
The Angled Cabinet has been part of the Vij5 collection since 2017. Iris and Ruben are masters in designing interior products to showcase personal objects in a beautiful way. The Angled Cabinet is no exception. The minimalist and well-balanced design creates an empty canvas for you to personalize with your own belongings. Whether it's your most precious souvenirs, your favourite books or a few random curiosities, this cabinet will make them look fabulous instantly!
Developed entirely by Studio Thier & van Daalen, the Angled Cabinet became part of the Vij5 collection in 2017. In 2019, together we introduced two additions for the cabinet, giving it new functions. Where the Angled Cabinet was originally designed as a display cabinet with glass panels in various colors, the system was expanded to include coated aluminum panels and a wooden wine rack. This makes the cabinet more playful and suitable for more diverse purposes.
