WHAT ARE THEY?
An outdoor vertical garden is a harmonious and elegant ensemble of plants chosen by expert botanists according to technical guidelines and variable characteristics such as climate and position. The plants grow on panels of fabric using the techniques of hydroponics. The panels are held up by a modular structure which is detached from the wall in order to guarantee ventilation and damp proofing. The irrigation and fertilization system is automatic and autonomous. All of the technology employed guarantees low maintenance costs and the possibility to have a complete overview of the plants’ state of health and conservation at all times.
CHARACTERISTICS
The weight of the structure with plants is approximately 50 kg/SQM. The structure is only 4 cm deep. The structure with plants can vary from 15 to 50 cm. A system which is pre-planted on our premises is the ideal way to achieve an immediate effect and excellent results. Plants can easily be removed and replaced if necessary.
ENERGY SAVINGS
An outdoor vertical garden creates a sort of “second skin” for the building which makes it possible to reduce costs of energy and building management. During the summer, exterior walls overheat and cause temperatures to rise inside the building thereby increasing energy consumption and the cost of air conditioning. An outdoor vertical garden, on the other hand, considerably reduces the overheating of the walls and consequently, the internal temperature. Thanks to the air space between the building walls and the planted panel, the internal temperature may be reduced to as low as 15°C thereby saving a remarkable amount of energy.
