The chestnut is a warmth-loving tree, which is why it is often found in regions where wine grapes are cultivated. The annual rings show up very clearly and give the wood a strong grain pattern. On the longitudinal cuts there are impressive figures and stripes that give the amber to dark brown wood a decorative character. The large pores form clear vessel lines on the longitudinal plane.
