Merino woolsteel baseupholstered

This stool is made of a vintage industrial stool with steel pipe legs. The renewal is done by sandblasting and powder-coating. The upholstered seating area is created by using over 35 floral pompons from merino wool. They are knotted densely to a felt base with crocheted cover. The Blossoms, buds and leaves are wrapped inside the pompons by hand. This object is exclusively handmade in Germany and at MYKs studio in Berlin. Customizing in color and is possible. dimensions: Seating height 48cm, diameter 38cm. Total weight is about 6 kg. It is refurbished and legs are sandblasted, and powder coated. The upholstered seating area is done with 35 black pompons of merino wool. The colorful neon yellow splashes seem to be squirted accidentally over the surface and crocheted edge, but they are exactly planed: for each pompon following up in the work a pre-defined sketch is made and then the pattern wrapped into the woolen ball. The neon splashes at crocheted edge are imitated by a hand embroidery.
