Hot-rolled special profiles
This manufacturing procedure allows for costeffective production of larger quantities of construction and stainless steel profiles. Hot-rolled steel profiles are created by Montanstahl by a form giving hot-rolling process applied to an endless wire feed with a diameter up to 60mm. During hot-rolling, a thin scale layer is formed on the surface of the profile. If necessary, this can be removed by a subsequent process. The delivery length can be freely adapted to customer wishes and the profile may alternatively be delivered as a ring. Bar wares are dressed and sawed at the end face.
The procedure is particularly suited to the creation of smaller special geometries. Typical minimum quantities start at 3 – 6 t for stainless steels and 9 – 15 t for construction steels.
If not otherwise specified, the sections are supplied in lengths of 6,000 mm -0/+200 mm and charged at €/kg. The sections can be cut flush (+/-5 mm) or exactly to length (-0/+2 mm). Specific lengths are also possible.
Montanstahl also manufactures historical steel window sections and, as the world market leader in this sector with a comprehensive standard range, enables the exact reconstruction of historical buildings throughout the world. Several examples are described under References.
