Maid of honor to Princess Henrietta Anne of England who was the wife of Louis XIV brother, Louise de La Valliere became the mistress of the King in 1661. She was kind and shy and Louis XIV was deeply in love with her. They had 4 legitimate children but she entered the convent under the name of Sister Louise of Mercy to finish her life.
