Description

The Saigon rattan cane chair combines the reassuring strength and nobility of a natural teak frame with the refinement of openwork rattan splinters. Beautifully handcrafted by KOK MAISON. Characteristics of the Saigon rattan cane chair: natural teak frame, natural rattan splint cane. Satin water-based varnish. Nylon glides under each leg. Dimensions: H 96 x W 46 x D 59 cm. Seat height 45 cm, seat depth 43 cm and seat width 47 cm (without cushion). Weight: 5 kg. A matching cushion is available as an option. Made in Indonesia. Saigon rattan chair: exclusive refinement The Saigon rattan cane chair is the perfect marriage of two noble materials: rattan cane and teak. Teak, a noble and precious wood, needs no introduction, but few people are aware of the technical expertise behind rattan caning. Each strand is first peeled from a rattan cane (which is actually its natural bark), and then planed and graded to give it a regular profile. Then comes the weaving operation, which can be mechanical (on looms of some kind) or manual. The critical point is the quality of the rattan cane. Only the best varieties are used to make the Saigon rattan chair. The Saigon rattan cane chair is one of the only chairs on the market to use such fine cane.
