From Paris to the French Riviera
Jardins de Babylone created its very first plant wall on a roof terrace. It was located in the 1st arrondissement of Paris. Amaury Gallon’s team designed this project in a client’s property.
This plant-based design was made up of several features:
Slate stakes were put in place to structure the space.
Plants were planted on a 60 m² terrace and a 15 m ² plant wall.
A plant area consisting of succulent plants resistant to the sun and bringing a harmonious range of colours. This project had the peculiarity of combining several different types of plants requiring little maintenance:
Sedum (stonecrop), a creeping succulent plant, is the ideal plant for dry rock gardens and areas accustomed to drought (dry and poor soils). This variety of plant does not need any special care.
Muehlenbeckia (maidenhair genus) were used. These plants tumble down to form a misty atmosphere.
Houseleeks were planted. They’re very hardy, especially at low temperatures.
