Plant abacus frame with bamboo sections.
Jardins de Babylone undertook a project using a plant concept in the Cinéma du Panthéon in the 5th arrondissement of Paris: a plant abacus frame.
This plant project was had a number of technical features:
A total surface area of 30 m².
3 m bamboo canes and cut into 30 cm sealed pieces.
A varnished black metal frame.
A set of 13 vertical tubes each 4 m.
Attachment plates comprising a tube145 mm wide cut at a 45° angle to attach the bamboo.
Each bamboo section has a drip watering system and a drainage system.
Many varieties of plants were carefully selected: Palace purple, Heuchere citronelle, Carex variegata (variegated sedge), Dryopteris filix mas (male fern), Acorus calamus variegatus (variegated sweet flag) and Polystichum polyblepharum (Japanese tassel fern).
