Medium wave elements (burning at around 900°C) take a few minutes to reach peak heat and are more suited to heating specific targeted areas. The medium wave heating elements emit a safe, clean wavelength of light that is only absorbed by solid objects, transferring heat directly to a person, table or floor rather than heating the air.
