iCoat ‘Epoxy Reflection Index’ Honing Oil is a cutting oil used in conjunction with a 3M Ultra Fine Scotchbrite Pad to match the reflection scale of real stone and produce a honed stone look on epoxy countertops, tables, and bars. Apply 3M Ultra Fine Scotchbrite Pad to a palm style vibrating sander (do not use an orbital sander). Apply a liberal amount of honing oil to a 2’ x 2’ section of countertop. With the sander in the off position distribute oil evenly over the section of countertop. Turn the sander on and move in an overlapping pattern. Wipe clean with a paper towel. Repeat in sections over the entire countertop to achieve the desired honed look.
