The structure was designed by FAM, a group of young architects in Madrid. The architects designed an envelope made from glass with oval shape footprint on top of the sub terrain visitor room. The memorial symbolises the “cry of hope to the city” from the “place of pain” in the depths of the railway station. The ETFE foil is printed with notes of condolence from all over the world which were dropped into a box placed at the site right after the attack. used materials MATERIAL ETFE foil
