Pentagonal production hall construction with a flat roof: coffee manufacturer Oetterli, with headquarters in the Swiss canton of Solothurn, now has so much more space thanks to the new HALTEC hall. All departments – ranging from management, through production up to warehousing and shipping – have been cleverly brought together under one roof. The custom-made hall comes as a pentagonal flat roof construction. This is not just a modern hall design – it was a specific requirement. Haltec adapted the production hall exactly to the property lines, as required by the building authority. This was a major challenge for the production hall construction, but the individual HALTEC SELECT halls made it easy! And best of all, additional photovoltaic modules can be installed on the modern flat roof for in-house power generation.
"The processes are much easier," said Managing Director Bernhard Mollet. Thanks to the new production hall construction, the divisions interlock perfectly, with each workflow being carefully considered during construction – from the delivery of goods and storage of the green coffee, through the roasting plant and production, to shipping and on-site sales in the factory shop.
The different air conditioning requirements were also taken into account during the construction of the production hall. The green coffee is best stored at cool temperatures. Separation of the areas by means of partition walls and a high-speed gate ensures a constantly cool room temperature, without having to make any compromises in other areas of the building. This means that sales and office rooms can be kept at a comfortable temperature, with no impact on the storage area.
