EVOLAM K is a laminated glass made up of one or more EVOLAM, EVODUR, EVODUR, EVODUR HST layers of the same or different thicknesses, with one, two or more coloured, translucent or opaque sheets used as the lamination film.
EVOLAM K can also be manufactured from the combination of EVOLAM with EVOLAM, EVODUR with EVODUR HS or EVODUR HST.
Like EVOLAM laminated glass, EVOLAM K is an EVA-coated (Etilen Vinyl Acetate) film, which is UV and moisture-resistant.
EVOLAM K can only be used indoors, and the best expression of a chosen colour is particularly evident when using glass with a low iron content (ultra-clear, Low Iron).
EVOLAM K with EVODUR with EVODUR HS or EVODUR HST far more resistant to mechanical stress than non tempered glass. Choosing different configurations and thicknesses can achieve various levels of mechanical stress resistance, and therefore various levels of security and safety.
Depending on the type of glass used and whether it is tempered or not, EVOLAM K may or may not be further drilled or processed after the laminating procedure. For example, if EVOLAM K includes EVODUR or EVODUR HS, no further holes or cuts can be made. On the other hand if not-tempered glass variants are used, EVOLAM K may be processed after the laminating process.
EVOLAM K has a wide range of uses and adds an aesthetic bonus to any glazing project:
Glass beams – glass beams are created to provide structural support for various installations such as skylights, glass floors, floorboards etc. They are made from either tempered or semi-tempered versions of EVOLAM K, the thicknesses and width of which are determined by the load they will have to support.
