Water purifier WATER PYRAMID


For the innovative firm Aqua Aero Water Systems BV we produce a unique form of water purification: the water pyramid. The pyramid is 9 metres high and covers a ground area of around 650 square metres. The water is fed in via a pump and is heated inside the pyramid by the sun to a temperature of up to 70 degrees Celsius. Saltwater or contaminated water is evaporated in the pyramid and condenses against the wall. Clean water then runs down from the inside of the lining and is collected in a gulley. The water can be drunk after the addition of minerals and purification agent (to combat the intestine bacteria E-coli). With drier times in mind, the rainwater that falls on the outside of the pyramid is also harvested and is stored in a reservoir or steel silo which is lined with Genap liner. The pyramid, which can produce in excess of 1000 litres of clean drinking water per day, is kept inflated by air pressure. The fan that is required for this, like the pump that supplies the water, is solar powered.
