Welcoming and protective, Gast is a sofa that was born from the creative mind of the Guatemalan designer Luis Arrivillaga, at his first collaboration with Frag. In the design of Gast, a soul of classic inspiration, typical of the early ‘900 sofas, coexists with the irony of the '60s upholstered furniture, reinterpreted in a contemporary key. At a glance you can see how the substantial volume of the internal padded parts is made lighter by the clean and linear design of the external containment structure, characteristics that make it unique in its kind. When you sit on Gast you have the feeling of being welcomed by a big embrace, as if wrapped in a cloud, without however losing contact with your surroundings. Gast comes in only one depth and two lengths, both featuring a single seat and back cushion. Refined and informal at the same time, its compactness and its design suggest its use in domestic and contract contexts, conveying a deep sense of comfort without being invasive. Collection of sofas with a plywood structure padded with polyurethane foam of different densities. Seat and back cushions in polyurethane and memory foam with quilt cover. Upholstered in leather or fabric. Hidden glides in black thermoplastic material.
