Celebrated architect Zaha Hadid has a talent for translating her trademark style of fluid, spatial dynamics into every creative project she undertakes. Following the critical success of the astonishing Limited Edition Aqua Table produced by Established & Sons in 2005, Hadid has returned to the Limited Edition collection with another visionary design. The Swarm chandelier is composed of 16,000 black crystals which make-up a complex pattern of forms. The effect is of a slow motion, controlled explosion: Individual, organic forms with seemingly little relation are brought together as a dynamic whole in the chandelier. A feat of manufacturing - the chandelier was designed using sophisticated digital modelling tools with each crystal being meticulously hand-threaded. "The Swarm chandelier expresses the continued sense of motion that is characterised in the architecture of Zaha Hadid. Like a controlled explosion it is a composition of black crystal volumes that are dynamic rather than static. They slash through space creating movement through actual and perceived time."
