Thanks to Roll Bond technology, we have realised a hybrid solar module consisting of a 60-cell photovoltaic panel with a black frame and backsheet, where the conversion of the sun's rays into electrical energy takes place, and an aluminium collector called a roll bond placed against the back of the panel where thermal energy is generated and transferred to the heat transfer fluid flowing in the collector. Among the numerous benefits of this technology are the increased production of electrical energy due to the cooling of the photovoltaic cell and the production of thermal energy for the production of domestic hot water, as well as integration with domestic heating systems, swimming pools, or in the commercial/industrial sector for the thermal energy needs of production processes. Other advantages include: - Increased ‘longevity’ of photovoltaic modules as cell hot-spot phenomena are prevented - Direct coupling of the module to a water-to-water (helium-assisted) heat pump heating system using the module as a heat exchanger alternatively or together with surface (GeoBond) or deep geothermal probes - No snow accumulation on the modules guaranteeing continuity of electricity production - Better aesthetic impact and lower cost than building two systems separately, one solar photovoltaic and one solar thermal
