Thin titanium panel decorated with mesmerized hand-craft technique of maki-e. The polished surface has the effect of mirror, reflects and makes the surrounding place look more spacious. Maki-e is the traditional decorative technique for room interior or daily commodities inherited in Japan, made by sprinkling gold/silver powder onto the lacquered surface. But here, titanium powder is used instead of gold and silver. The anodized titanium is gradually changed the color or brightened.
Musashino is the area in Western Tokyo, deserted in olden days and only seen with wild plants. The art design was inspired by the series of picture by Korin Ogata, artist in late 17th to early 18th century, among the collection in Goto Museum, Tokyo. The waka poem in cursive writing is decorated on the surface, reciting the loneliness in cold autumn days.
1465mm(H) x 1350(W) x 0.8., the whole backside lined by a thin board, total 10mm thickness. The frame (by separate charge) can be locally customized or can be applied in Japan.
