The headquarters, called the cube, is the heart of the new ThyssenKrupp Quarter. More than 500 employees will find their new workplace in the cube-shaped building. At a height of 50 meters, it towers above all the other buildings on the campus without unduly dominating them. Nor is it its height, but rather its striking, expressive form that gives the building a prominent status. The geometric entanglement of the different volumes around a common centre creates an exciting external appearance. Fascinating spaces are also created inside the building. The glass-covered atrium forms the centre. It extends over ten floors and is structured by numerous intermediate levels and walkways. Two large, glass panorama windows form the end of the room to the north and south, each facing the water axis. The example of solar shading illustrates how the architecture of the new campus is combined with ThyssenKrupp's product world. Stainless steel products from the Group were used for the solar shading on a total facade area of 8,000 square meters. ThyssenKrupp, as client, provided comprehensive and active support in the search for technically innovative solutions and the endeavor to realize optimal structural standards.
