Description

Teapot/New Rikyu Style The traditional technique of pot making for famous tea ceremonies is combined with a new design to fit a modern lifestyle. A cast iron teapot with a porcelain lid. This pairing is a classic combination in Japanese tea-making implements, or chadogu. Chushin Kobo offers this modern incarnation under the name "New Rikyu style.” The lid is made of porcelain of Arita-yaki. There are four kinds of designs expressing white, black and handwritten red or blue as a concentric circular pattern. The teapot can be used in combination with six kinds of main bodies, Marutsutsu, Marutama, Hiratsubo the lid is according to your preference. It is a series to propose a new tea style based on the history of Japanese traditional tea ceremony Teapot/Hiratsubo/S size:140x175x150mm/0,7L weight:1,300g Teapot/Hiratsubo/L size:170x210x180mm/1,4L weight:2,100g The iron teapot has a special feature, it maintains its warm heat so it takes a long time to become cold. Therefore it’s easy to make warm delicious tea. That is why I designed the teapot as an easy to use tool to fit with our modern lifestyle. There are two sizes, ‘0.7L’ and ‘1.4L’. Select the one that fits your situation and suits the number of people that will be drinking tea. I use a traditional sandy technique for the surface of the iron teapot and designed the shape of it to be like a tea jar that is used in traditional tea ceremonies. I use enamel on the inside to prevent rust. The spout is handmade to be especially thin so that it is easy to control the pouring and the usage of it.
