On the macro-dimension of the large ceramic wall covering slab, the visual textures elaborated by Pepe take on a configuration that is hypnotic and fascinating, resembling a varied chromatic mixture inspired by traditional marbled paper.
Some of the solutions designed by Pepe involve the juxtaposition of two distinct linear graphics centered on the geometry of the slab: the figure of a "blazon" - a coat of arms similar to a composite shield, alluding to the imagery of heraldry, and the shape of an "hourglass," originating from the opposition of two isosceles triangles.
The solutions provided to complete the range are in a different tone: reflecting the desire to "stage" a clear contrast with the multicolour ceramic wall coverings, these slabs are in completely neutral shades, in the grey frequencies of concrete.
«The collection is intended to create a struggle, a fight. Between something very stiff, which sees itself as governed by clear rules, and a variable, marbled paper, which aims to be completely free.»
