Description

Noble, with an unequalled subtle lustre. The handmade mohair OPERA rug represents the pinnacle of luxury and embodies the culmination of years of research and expertise. The OPERA journey has taken us on an extensive exploration, sourcing the finest of mohair fibres from the Angora goats thriving in the semi-arid South African landscapes, and traversing Europe and the Far East, to uncover the most exceptional hand-knotting technique in Nepal. In our pursuit of perfection, we have chosen to craft our handmade rugs in small, artisanal locations, embracing a commitment to ethical craftsmanship. With its luxurious silken sheen, the mohair rugs are not only exquisite, but also surpass silk in practicality, thanks to their washability. The remarkable fiber resilience makes removing imprints a breeze. An alluring collection comprising 24 colours with customisable options in various shapes and sizes. The strong, elegant glossy mohair yarn is acquired from the coat of angora goats that are raised in an ecologically responsible manner in the wonderful South African nature area "Karoo". Purely traditional and disarmingly honest. Everything up to the final knotting of the carpet is done by hand. Liset always tries to stretch the bounds of possibility. Looking at colour has become her second nature and in building designs be it for textiles or carpets, her starting point is always the expression of the yarn.
