Bed, seat and chaise lounge. Versatile and passepartout, it occupies very little space too. An object for the house which, as suggested by its name, hides a surprise inspired by a traditional concept of multifunction. With Ori Tami, Giulio Manzoni (2007) drew his inspiration from multifunctional tatami, the Japanese floor bed that is folded away every morning. This tatami however features Italian materials and technology. We are surprised to see how its original foldaway feature enables it to be converted with the elegance of an origami.
A convertible chair bed easily becomes a chaise lounge or a queen size bed. The frame is in steel and is padded in foamed polyurethane and polyester fibre. The fully removable cover is in coloured Lycra. The external part is covered in fabric coated with grey polyurethane.
