The FI-SCHUKOMAT is a socket outlet equipped with an FI circuit breaker and increased protection against accidental contact. It thus offers protection against life-threatening body currents - e.g. in the bathroom. If the worst comes to the worst, the residual-current circuit breaker switches off the voltage in the socket in a flash. The current in your house is not interrupted. So the light and the freezer remain switched on.
What makes the FI-SCHUKOMAT special?
Socket outlet with FI switch
This socket outlet has increased protection against accidental contact (VDE 0664) and an RCD switch. The latter detects unusual electrical currents and interrupts the power supply to prevent electric shocks. Operational safety is maintained because only the socket and not the circuit are without voltage after tripping.
The ideal protection against life-threatening body currents
Humidity and dampness can quickly occur in the kitchen, cellar or bathroom. And life-threatening body currents are caused, for example, by line damage, moisture or defective appliances. The FI circuit breaker in the FI Schukomat prevents dangerous currents from reaching the body at the highest possible reaction speed.
Protection from fires
The integrated RCD also detects electrical short circuits and can thus interrupt the flow of current to prevent possible fires.
