Thanks to the quality of its production processes, MacTex® geotextiles have excellent technical characteristics and high resistance to chemical and biological degradation. Their high permeability allows fluids to flow through their structure, retaining the soil particles and, thus, replacing the traditional granulometric filters. The MacTex® product range is very large and may be used in drainage works, landfills and repaving streets and roads. Its gram weight, thickness and puncture resistance allow it to be used as a separation element between soils of different characteristics, avoiding these mixing together. They are also used as geomembrane protection to avoid localised efforts, assuring their functionality. If the geotextile is manufactured using a sole hole making process, it will be defined by adding the suffix “N” to its name (MacTex® N and MacTex® PN). When the material undergoes a thermal calender process, after a hole making process, that provides it better dimensional characteristics and less deformation, then the suffix “H” will be added (MacTex® H and MacTex® PH). MacTex® geotextiles are also available in woven version, MacTex® WP, that guarantees a high resistance to traction (to 100 kN/m) with relatively low unit weights (up to 500 g/m2).
