Discover our full range of metallic coated steels for all types of construction applications:
Alusi® can resist high temperatures; it is particularly suitable for thermal shieldings such as fire doors
Alupur® is an excellent solution for many applications in power plants and the petrochemical industry
Magnelis® shows outstanding resistance in harsh environments with self-healing properties on the cut edges. This steel product is widely used for rainwater systems, light steel framing, lighting poles and road equipment, animal housing, silos, greenhouses as well as solar structures.
Metallic coated steel is certainly the product best able to meet present and future environmental regulations. ArcelorMittal has opted for a proactive approach to the evolution of these regulations by building respect for the environment into the life cycle of its metallic coated steel products.
Metallic coated steels are steel substrate coated with:
a layer of zinc defined as Z coating; the coating process can apply very thick zinc layers of up to 900g/m² (total of both sides)
a layer of aluminium/silicium alloy, Alusi® (AS), composed of 90% aluminium and 10% silicon
a layer of zinc/aluminium/magnesium coating, Magnelis® (ZM), composed of 93.5% zinc, 3.5% aluminium, and 3% magnesium
a layer of pure aluminium coating, Alupur® (AL), a steel substrate coated on both sides with pure aluminium
These products are manufactured on continuous production lines using different coating processes such as:
