A practical, solid oak side chair that is perfect for everyday dining. Equally suitable as café seating.
The oak Hardy side chair is the perfect chair for everyday dining; it is also very much at home in a café environment.
It is the smaller sibling of the Hardy Chair, a chair that drew inspiration from two chair typologies from the 19th century, Thomas Hardy’s birth century: firstly the Captain’s chair originally a low-backed wooden armchair and secondly, the Smokers bow, a low back Windsor, often used in smoking rooms, public houses, barbers shops and cottages.
Old Furniture, a poem by Dorset-born Thomas Hardy, is an ode to beauty of furniture being handed down the generations. We think the oak side chair would make Mr Hardy quite pleased.
