Acrow supplied 220 ft. of 12 ft. wide bridge frame – no deck
Bridge width:
The Acrow bridge was 12 ft. 8½ inches between the inside trusses
Bridge surface:
The contractor build a launching platform that matched up to the Acrow bridge frame that had two “steel rails” that the concrete beam would travel on top of over the Acrow bridge – much like a railroad would travel on rails
Bridge erection:
The bridge frame was cantilever launched
Bridge design:
(1) Designed to carry 358,000 lbs. of concrete beam and launch /rail equipment
(2) Built to move laterally on Hillman rollers to act like a “Gantry crane” allowing the beam to be pulled across the gap and then picked up lowered into place by Strand Jacks
Bridge finish:
– All major components galvanized to AASHTO M111 – ASTM A 123
– All bolts are hot dipped galvanized
– All pins are electro galvanized
